Group Therapy
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy led by one or more therapists for a small group of participants. Parent Training
At Central CBT we provide parent training to parents looking for ways to better help their child through mental health struggles. The approaches utilized are skills-based. Parents are taught effective ways to respond to their child's maladaptive behaviors while increasing warmth and support.
Some techniques taught include:
-
Increase in parental support
-
Decrease in parental accommodations
-
Use of positive reinforcement and praise to increase child's positive behaviors
-
Clarity and consistency in setting consequences and expectations
Telehealth
Our practice offers the opportunity for telehealth therapy, where we utilize remote technologies to deliver healthcare to patients from a distance. It enables effective mental health treatment through a secure video connection. Some benefits of telehealth services include accessibility, convenience, and cost reduction. Additionally, through the use of tele-therapy, individuals have the opportunity to practice therapeutic skills in their "natural environment."
Neuropsychological Evaluations
At Central CBT we provide neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults. These empirical tests provide valuable information regarding one's cognitive and psychological functioning. A neuropsychological evaluation includes a clinical interview, detailed history, clinical observation, and a battery of standardized tests. The testing process includes measures of intellectual functioning, executive functioning, language, memory, attention, processing speed, visual spatial functioning, mood, and behavior. Based on the assessments, we provide a comprehensive report including a cognitive profile, information about functioning, and detailed clinical recommendations. In this process, we assist with diagnosis and treatment planning for a wide range of conditions.
Training, Consultation, and Speaking Engagements
At Central CBT, we offer training and speaking engagements on a variety of mental health topics, including “skills for parenting the anxious child”, “strategies for breaking the OCD cycle”, and “mindful-based living”. The trainings are conducted by experienced mental health professionals on our team. Speaking engagements play an important role in increasing awareness of mental health and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness.

We also offer consultation and supervision for mental health providers looking to improve their skills so they can best care for their clients. If you or your school, business or practice are interested in individual or group trainings, please contact us today to get started.
